Clock #9019

English fusee bracket clock by George Rossiter of Bridgwater which is near Bristol in the southwest of England.

The case has been nicely cleaned and polished and is made of figured walnut veneer. It does have a chip or two here and there and there is a slight shadow indicating that it once had some carved applied trim on the base panel. It has a painted convex dial which is signed and in good condition. There is a heavy brass bezel with the original convex glass. The sides of the clock have brass bails and brass fretwork windows with a red silk backing. It retains the original key, heavy brass fusee style pendulum and delicate cut steel hands.

This is an eight-day timepiece. It is running well but in order to keep time the pendulum needs to be at the very bottom of the case and there is some question as to why that is so. 22 inches tall.

Clock #98022

Seth Thomas column and cornice clock.

Not a terribly rare clock but this one is about as nice and example as you are likely to find. The case is rosewood and mahogany with a clean original finish and nearly perfect veneer. The two toned gold columns are exceptional. Usually they are badly worn or gold overpainted but these look great.

The raised zinc dial has just a couple small flaked spots, the label is virtually perfect and the reverse decorated tablet is colorful and in superior condition. Original pulley caps, hands, pendulum and weights. 30 hour brass movement with gong strike and in good running order. 25" tall.

Clock #1118

Ithaca 3 1/2 Parlor - double dial calendar clock

This clock came directly from a family who had owned it for several generations, probably from day one. The black dial paper, roller papers, lower glass dial, signed glass pendulum, nickled hands and bezel are all orginal and in very good condition.

This is the early model with the highly desireable 30 day movement.

The finish is original and the clock is in overall exellent condition with the exception of these three items: The backboard has been replaced, the right side lower trim piece is missing the top portion and there is a small leaf tip missing on the right side of the top crest.

The clock movement is very dusty because it has not been run in many years. However, I started it running and surprisingly it ran for several days before stopping. The date did not trip over properly so that would need to be adjusted when the clock is cleaned. - Height is 20 1/2" tall.
