Clock #8004

Southern Calendar Clock Co. Fashion No. 4.

Solid walnut case with a good clean finish and in fine condition but for the missing tips on the original finials. Both painted dials are original and in very good condition. Original hands, pendulum, large brass bell and roller papers. The glass is original and has the cut "Fashion" in the center but the gold needs to be put back on.

After writing this description I found that I neglected to note that the domed portion behind the top finial is missing. (This is visible in the photo of the back of the clock.) Therefore, the price has been reduced.

8 day with strike. 32 ½" tall.

The label is very good. Original pendulum and key. The thirty hour movement is signed and patent dated 1847. It has new fusee cords and looks fine but runs only a few minutes. 20" tall..

It has a signed double sunk porcelain dial with visible jeweled escapement. There are no hairlines or chips. The bezel is heavy cast brass with a convex beveled glass.

This clock was well cared for and it retains the original hands, pendulum and signed key. There is a good label on the case bottom. 8 day with hour and half hour strike on a resonant cathedral gong. It is in good running order. 15" tall.

Clock #8028

Walnut parlor clock, probably by New Haven.

I could not find a label on the clock. The case is solid walnut, nicely refinished, with no damages but I believe the two top rosettes have been replaced. The painted dial has some flaking and the stenciled glass is a replacement.

Original hands, key and fancy brass pendulum. 8 day with gong strike and in good running order. 23" tall.

Clock #8029

Rare J. C. Brown, Forrestville, Conn. mother of pearl picture frame clock.

This model is not easily found and usually they are in pretty rough shape but this one is quite good. The stencil and paint decoration shows very little wear and the colors are bright. All the mother of pearl pieces are there and it still has the ivory knob.

The blue and gold upper glass is fine with just a bit of background touch up. The lower glass appears to be correct and has a portrait of J. C. Brown. The dial is in great shape with a crisp signature. The label does have some torn spots.

Original hands, pendulum and key. Signed 8 day ribbed movement with gong strike. Running. 17" tall.

Clock #8030

C. Boardman and J. A. Wells, Bristol, Conn. steeple clock.

(The catalog description was incorrect. This is not a fusee movement clock.)

The refinished mahogany case is perfect without one veneer chip. Even the finial tips have never been nicked. The dial has been nicely repainted and the painted tablet has been replaced but it looks fine. Proper replacement hands and original pendulum. One small torn spot on the label which is quite legible.

30 hour movement is signed "C. Boardman, Bristol, Conn." and "Patented Jan. 1847". Running. 20" tall.

Clock #8064 Miniature

Ansonia Brass Co., Bristol, Conn. miniature steeple clock.

This is a wonderful little miniature steeple clock. The refinished rosewood and mahogany case is nearly perfect with one chipped finial tip being the only noticeable flaw.

The painted dial has some shrinkage lines but it does not matter because the reverse painted tablet makes up for it. Probably done by William Fenn, this tablet is one of the very best. The painted eagle is terrific and there is not one wear spot.

There is a good label plus the original hands and pendulum. This 30 hour timepiece movement is running well. You will not be disappointed with this cute little clock. 14" tall.

Clock #8032

Seth Thomas Empire No. 17 crystal regulator clock

It is in need of restoration or useful for parts. The previous owner took the clock apart to work on it, never did and the parts were lost. It is missing the top ornament, cathedral gong, the hands, key and pendulum plus the bolts that hold the top and base together.

On the plus side, all 4 beveled glasses are perfect as is the colorful signed porcelain dial. 12" tall.
