Clock #9101 Standing regulator clock. This is a Gilbert case very similar to the "No. 9 Regulator" now with a Waterbury movement, dial etc. The case is solid walnut with gilt highlights in some of the engraved areas. There are matching burl panels on the crest and base. The painted dial is in superior condition. The hands, pulleys, weights, pendulum and glass appear to be the originals. The pendulum bob is 8" in diameter. The trapezoidal dead beat movement which sits on a iron bracket is a Waterbury regulator movement. The movement, dial, pendulum and weights are as found in the No. 6 or No. 9 regulators. 7' 3 ½" tall. Clock #98067 This is not a maker you hear much about but the quality is right
up there with the best. See Tran Duy Ly's "Longcase Clocks" book for
illustrations of this company's movements, dials and cases. The Charles
Korfhage company was located on 12 Dutch Street in New York City from
1877 through the early 1900's. Korfhage

Clock #9069 Nine tube Grandmother clock by the Kuempel Chime Clock Works of Excelsior, Minnesota At 6'11" tall I don't know if this should be called a grandmother clock or simply a small grandfather. At any rate, it is a size which will fit easily into just about any home and small tubular chime tall case clocks are not very common at all. This is a contemporary clock and it is dated 3-20-74. The case is solid mahogany so it does not have any veneer problems. However, it will need to be refinished because someone tried to improve the factory job and they applied a finish which is much too thick and heavy. The hood has reeded quarter columns and the waist door has a heavy beveled glass. The dial is brass finished with applied corner spandrels, applied numerals and a moon phase. The movement is driven by three large brass weights for the time, strike and chime trains. The weights are in good shape and show no signs of dents or damage from being dropped. The weights are held by chains and the clock is wound by pulling the weights up once per week. The movement strikes the quarter hours on eight resonant brass tubes and strikes the hours on a ninth larger tube. None of the tubes are damaged and they all have good tone. I doubt that this movement has been cleaned in quite some time, however, it is running, striking and chiming properly for me. There are four different chime settings: Westminster, St. Michael's, Whittington and silent. These are set by a lever on the dial. Being made 30 years ago, this movement is of considerably better quality than the embarrassing things on the market today and the price is just a fraction of what a clock from a furniture store would cost today. order - SOLD Nine tube Grandmother clock by the Kuempel Chime Clock Works of Excelsior, Minnesota - closeup / |

Clock #1109 Foster Campos grandmother clock - - 5' 1" tall. Foster Campos grandmother clock. This clock is in simply stunning, original condition. There is not a flaw, fleck or blemish. If you are looking for one pristine example, I guarantee you will not be disappointed with this clock. Foster never made very many of these and this clock is one of his best because it has an eight day weight driven movement with a seconds dial plus rocking ship. The case is mahogany with satinwood inlay and stop fluted columns with brass capitals. The interior of the case and the waist door have Foster's banjo clock logo branded into them. The signed dial is hand-painted and in perfect condition. This clock came from a family who purchased it directly from Foster about 1990. I do not believe they ever ran the clock, so servicing it with fresh oil would certainly be a wise thing to do. It comes with the original brochure and price list. 5 feet, 1 inch tall. Clock #1110 American tall case clock. This is a good, honest, unsigned American tall case clock, dating to about 1810, with good proportions and a nice small size. It has a refinished solid cherry case with some mahogany trim and a nice light colored cherry panel in the base. There are a couple of edge pieces missing on that base. The feet and the fretwork have been replaced, as is often the case, but they were well made and they look just fine. The hood and the waist have fluted columns with brass capitals. The dial has been professionally repainted and it is in great shape. Parts of the wood mask around the dial are missing but that hardly shows when the door is closed. The clock comes with the original hands, tin can weights, pulleys and winding key. As a wonderful bonus, the clock also comes with a very early sales receipt which reads in part: "Chester - Dec 4th 1821, Josiah Chase Bot of Joseph Niles one Eight day Clock - 35.00, 1 Goose feather bed & bedding - 20.00……" It goes on in two full interesting pages to describe the home furnishings and the terms of their sale. Great stuff. This is an 8 day clock with hourly strike on a bell. It has been running and keeping good time for me for several weeks. The movement appears to have been recently serviced by a capable clockmaker. 7'4" tall. American tall case clock - closeup / hood / dial / base / interior / order - SOLD |

Clock #1111 American tall clock - case only, possibly of Pennsylvania origin American tall clock - case only. Possibly of Pennsylvania origin, this is a great clock case made of solid select cherry. The waist door and base panel are solid bird's-eye while most of the rest of the case is tiger grained. This clock has the original finish and with a simple cleaning, the grain of the wood will really jump out. The feet have never been cut and the case is just about perfect but for the replaced finial. The door glass is original. The opening in the dial mask measures 15 ½" inches tall by 11 ¾" wide so a standard 16" by 12" dial will fit perfectly. This clock will make a stunning addition to any home. 7 feet, 5 1/2 inches tall. American tall clock - case only - closeup / order - SOLD |

Clock #1112 William Bryson, Kilmarnock, Scottish tall case clock William Bryson, Kilmarnock, Scottish tall case clock. This clock is in "as found" condition but if you are willing to do the restoration, it has great potential. The case is made with figured mahogany veneers. There are years of accumulated dust but I cleaned the base panel just a bit so you could get an idea of what the finished product will look like. The case is missing various pieces of veneer, the feet and a few other trim pieces. The brass dial has a wonderfully engraved center plus a silvered chapter ring, seconds ring and signature boss. It also has a calendar window and measures 16 ¾" tall by 12 ¼" wide. The clock comes with the original hands, lead weights, pendulum and winding key. This is an eight day clock which strikes the hours on a resonant bell. The strike train and time train are complete and they operate correctly with a bit of finger pressure but the movement is very dirty and it will need servicing after years of neglect. The clock stands 6 feet 8 inches tall. William Bryson, Kilmarnock, Scottish tall case clock - closeup / hood
