Clock #1081

E.N. Welch eight day marine lever clock

E.N. Welch eight day marine lever clock. The refinished rosewood case is very clean and it only has one small veneer chip. The painted dial is excellent and it is signed "Patent Lever Escapement." There is a small seconds dial and the clock has the original hands plus a hinged brass bezel. There is a partial label noting that this is an eight day clock. It ticks and the escapement seems to be okay but it is sluggish and only runs for a short while so it will need a cleaning. 11 inches in diameter.

Clock #1082

Seth Thomas large eight day marine lever clock

Seth Thomas large eight day marine lever clock. This clock has a mahogany case which has been nicely refinished. There are several small veneer chips along the back edge. The painted dial is signed but it has a good deal of flaking. It has the original hour and minute hands but the seconds hand is missing. There is a fairly good label. This is an eight day double wind timepiece. It is ticking but the escapement is in need of adjustment. At 13 1/2 inches in diameter, it is larger than normal.

Clock #9054

Ansonia Standard Regulator Clock

This case is not veneered but rather it is solid oak without any case damages or chips. However, it was once painted a grayish color, then was refinished and now some traces of that gray remain in the grain and especially on the interior.

It has an aluminum dial which is signed "Board of Education, New York". In the 1920s, school systems purchased these clocks, removed the dials that came with them and replaced them with their own dials signed in this manner. The hands, beat scale and the distinctive Ansonia weight are the originals.

Note that the pendulum rod is broken and the lower portion is missing. The pendulum bob, with some small dents, is there.

This is an eight-day timepiece which has a good quality movement with maintaining power. 36 inches tall.

Clock #1083

Waterbury octagon marine lever clock

Waterbury octagon marine lever clock. The rosewood case is clean and refinished with almost perfect veneer. The painted dial shows a bit of wear on some of the numerals. It has the original hands and a good label. This is a one day clock with hourly strike which is rather unusual. It is running. 11 inches in diameter.

Clock #1084

Black Forest cuckoo clock

Black Forest cuckoo clock. The carvings on this clock are a bit better than you see on the average cuckoo clock and it is older than most of those that are found today. The pendulum is also heavily carved. Note that at the bottom of the case there is a piece of carving missing that goes between the two sets of acorns. The hands have been replaced and the clock does not have a rear cover board. The clock comes with an old set of weights but I cannot guarantee they are the original ones for it though they should work. It has the original wooden bird. I believe this is a one day clock. The bellows have new caps. The case is 18 inches tall.

Clock #1085

Seth Thomas gallery clock

Seth Thomas gallery clock. I believe the case is maple which is stained to resemble mahogany. It has been refinished and there are no case damages or problems. The dial has been poorly touched up and it should be repainted. It has the original hands and pendulum. This is an eight day timepiece and it is running. 15 inches tall.

Clock #1086

Rare Jerome wall clock

Rare Jerome wall clock. This is a rare, hard to find item. This model had cases which were grained painted to resemble rosewood. This case has been refinished resulting in a loss of the graining on the front but the sides are still fairly good. The clock retains both original black and gold reverse painted glasses and the painted dial is in quite good condition. It has a fairly good label which notes that it was made by Chauncey Jerome of New Haven, Conn. The hands and the pendulum are the originals. This is an eight day timepiece and it is in good running order. 19 inches tall.
